“Over & Out”

This was my first foray into woodworking! Here are some details on the making of this sculpture.

Original waveform
Downsampled to 50 bars and amplitude scaled to make full use of the walnut boards
I spent maybe 3 hours at the hardwood store thinking about different combos of materials, thicknesses, spacers, etc.

Laying things out for the first time!
I designed + printed some fixtures to line everything up on center and set the spacers back 1/4”. Originally I was planning to drill a hole thru the center of every piece and skewer it all on a walnut dowel rod, but this felt like less work 😅
Give ‘em the clamps!
Had to get creative because my clamps weren’t long enough 🫣
Looks better than I could have possibly imagined!!
